The International Blockchain Association (“IBA”) is the independent, self-regulatory organisation for the blockchain industry. The IBA provides a global platform for international brands/companies, start-ups, investors, developers, service providers and regulators to connect and collaborate. The IBA provides a global solution for an industry underpinned by a borderless technology. The IBA has been specifically designed and founded to;enhance market integrity through trust and transparency;to promote engagement and collaboration with governments and regulators; andactively contribute to the responsible, balanced development of the industry. To ensure the balanced development of the industry, all sectors of the blockchain community should be represented and enabled to collaborate. The IBA recognises the importance of this to the industry and aims to provide this solution to our members. There are challenges posed by the rapidly evolving industry and considerable variation in the application of blockchain technology. The IBA proposes a collaborative, consistent approach to the introduction of best practice guidance and codes of conduct, to facilitate a form of self-regulation and standardisation internationally amongst our members. IBA members are required to adhere to IBA Rules, through the introduction of the IBA Code of Conduct and IBA Market Practice Guidance. By creating a comprehensive framework of legal analysis and opinions, the IBA further aims to add legal certainty for members in all jurisdictions.
